The Human Mind

Being open to Change is one of the best tools you can have in life.

I just been reading the book 'The Human Mind' by Robert Winston. I recommend his work. You start to take note of the patterns and directions of your mind when you read its map.

We know our brain has a lot to do with the way we find our way through life. But do we really know our brain. For all we know about the mind and brain their is much we do not.

A few things that I read in the book that you may be interested in -

The great philosopher Plato thought the head was the house of the intellect and the soul.

Aristotle also one of the great philosophers disagreed with his teacher Plato. He like a few others thought it was the heart the home of the soul.

The father of medical practice Hippocrates named the brain as the centre of the emoitions hunderds of years after.

It was not until physicians started to dissect bodies that the connection to the brain was made clear.

So even Aristotle could be wrong. He made a idea based on the information he had. That is fine. I am sure with more information he would be happy to change his mind. That is why he was one of the great philosophers. You can't always be right, but you can always change!

I was talking to Steve Morris the other day and he said to me 'Change your mind more often'.

Now that is something to put in your mind!
