Kombat Kings
Held at Urban Kings
This event will now be the offical feeder event for 10th Legion.
Matched and arranged by Peter Irving and Guess Ref was Jess ' the Joker ' Liaudin no less.
We had Aaron, Duane and Kerion from our Team and also Ramon our brother from Leo's Team.
All the fights where with heavier guys. Aaron had an opponent change and agreed to fight a new opponent that was in his 20's and 8kg over the weight. Aaron took the fight as the card would have been low on fighters if he pulled out. It was a great tough fight, Aaron was knocked down twice in the first round, but came back strong and even won the last round. He lost on points but showed why he is an Iron Wolves fighter, heart of a lion!
Kerion also had a tough fight, it was very close and a split decision. Kerion was landing the better harder punches. He did gas to the end of the rounds, but I think be backed up his guy and it should have been a draw or a win for Kerion, but thats fighting. Very proud of him and he learnt a lot. Hills to run for the next fight!
Duane had a great fight, really worked his skills. Again his opponent was 8kg over! But Duane put the hurt on and was cool as ice. The judges had Duane the winner but at first the MC was told it was a draw. This was corrected after. Winner Duane. At 42 he has showed what can be done with the right training and skills.
Ramon was relaxed and happy go lucky as always. His opponent came out strong and Ramon answered back with a one, two headkick to KO his opponent!
Great night. Very proud of our guys!

Kieran Coxon - True Warrior!!!
The face of a True Warrior!
Kieran has been a strong part of the Iron Wolves Team from the day he started training with us. After only 2 years training he has become a very tough CSL Wing Chun fighter with nice BJJ and wrestling to match.
After some great Amateur MMA wins he decided to step up too Semi Pro. Just at that point he was offered a fight for a Semi Pro Title - taking on Saul Rogers who was 6-1 and very tough.
Not the best first fight for anyone, but Kieran wanted the fight as way to test his future in the sport. If he did okay then he would know he could do well as he developed. Crazy in some way, but Kieran is old school to the bone.
Well the fight was a war and some! Kieran lost only to experience but showed his skills where more that enough to fight at that level. Both fighters put on a great show of MMA.
Duane and me where cage side to support Kieran (Iron Roy)- his new nickname! and we could not be more proud to have him as part of our Iron Wolves Team - a true warrior and brother.
BJJ - Dmitry Wins 2 fights and only lost to the overall winner
Big Well Done! for our Iron Wolves brother Dmitry
After only a year training in BJJ with us, Dmitry entered the 1-3 years experience division at a London BJJ event.
He did very well. Winning 2 fights and making it to the Semi final!
He showed great skills taking side control and also working his sweeps in his fights.
As he entered a group where the other guys would have had a lot more experience he showed a well rounded level of skill as he only lost to the overall winner on points!
Dmitry said after that he learned a lot from the fights.
Excellent!

Alex Wright - Fight Report - Great News
Just got a great update from one of our Branch Schools - Alex Wright in Newcastle
Alex had two of his guys fighting for the first time -
By Alex Wright -
A local affair up in Ashington gave two of our guys their debut fights last night at the Strike Fighting Championship in Ashington.
Billy Snowdon vs Lee Taylor (Amatuer MMA)
Billy Snowdon our Judo instructor took on local fighter Lee Taylor in his first amatuer MMA fight. Billy controlled the fight from the start and after being taken down early in round one reversed the position and dominated on the ground throughout rnd 1. The second round saw a Billy executing a beautiful throw landing his opponent heavilly after surviving an earlier illegal but pretty good right shot to the head from his opponent. Billy again dominated round 2 with a combination of well executed knee strikes, superior position and strikes from side mount.
Round three Billy let his dirty boxing start and threw some excellent knees before Lee jumped a guillotine in what was indeed a late bid to win the fight. We’d trained guillotine defence to death in the preparations and Billy comfortably defended the submission eventually fighting out and again winning round 3.
All in All a good MMA fight from two well matched opponents, Billy showed how far he’s come on from simply being a Judo player and is developing into a more complete fighter winning the fight by decision.
Bobby Bolam vs Tony Ellis (K1 Rules)
Another well matched fight between local boy Tony Ellis and our assistant instructor Bobby Bolam.
Round 1 saw Bobby open perfectly with a cute side step and right hand narrowly scuffing its target. 30 seconds in Bobby found his range and dominated the whole of round one repeatedly landing his Wing Chun spring punch and escaping any real damage.
The second round got more competative with both fighters showing real skills in what I thought was the best fight of the night. Bobby rocked his opponent with straight lefts and some slightly wild looping rights on two occasions and definately had the best of the boxing whilst Tony Ellis landed repeated leg kicks and came more into the fight as a whole.
Rnd 3 was a spectator dream and a coaches nightmare with a real battle both fighters putting the other one on the ropes (or cage in this case) with flurries that could have ended the fight, both fighters coming back strong showing heart and skill. Bobby finally returned some kicks although Tony’s low points were beginning to take effect.
Bobby deservedly won the fight by decision (edging all three rounds on paper) but credit has to go to his opponent Tony Ellis who certainly put in an excellent performance that would have seen him gain the win on many a night.
All in all a great night for our club showing that all aspects of our training is developing well in our young fight team.
Alex Wright Newcastle Branch
Well done to the guys!

Iron Wolves Fight again at 10th Legion III
Once again the Chu Sau Lei Wing Chun Warriors put our skills to the test.
The guys did excellent!
Rob Binns lost his first MMA fight on points, but did really well. I was very proud of him. At 40 years old he stepped up with a very tough youngblood and showed us all to never give up and its never to late!
Kieron Coxon Won his fight. He put on a great fight and put into use all the training from the winter camp. Very nice to see! Great Win for him.
Stephen Middleton from Cyclone/Iron Wolves lost his fight, after being maybe a bit too relaxed at the start. Stephen is a skilled guy and will be back ready next time.
Laurence Neal was winning his fight all the way and then made a small error which cost him the fight. But a rematch for the title is now on the cards for July! Will be a war!
Luke Arwynck Lost a 2 round war. After 6 months training with us Luke jumped into a Semi Pro fight. He did excellent for his first fight and learned a lot from it. Very proud of his efforts.
Neil Broadbent made his return to Pro MMA - He won a very tough fight on points. His opponent was excellent and Neil had to show heart to get the job done. Great to see him back, lots where learned and some hard training ahead for another war in May.
A great night! Very proud of all the guys as always, win or loose they are all winners in life.
With the feedback we gain from the guys fighting we all grow and develop. Thats the key to our system being what it is.
Big thank you to all the guys in our classes that helped with the fight training. Also a big thanks to all the guys coming to support the shows via helping out or watching.
